How does Snapters work?
- Snapters is a web-based interactive software program that combines visual and audio prompts to help guide students sequentially through each chapter of a book they are required or advised to read in class or at home.
- The program utilizes still images, a single reading voice, and calming screen colors to create a relaxing experience for the user.
- Students utilize the Snapters software program while reading a physical copy of the book. The audio book is embedded in the software, and students read along with the narrator.
- Each chapter of the book is previewed with a Narrated Summary to pique students’ interest and help comprehension.
- Illustrated Prior Knowledge for each chapter introduces unfamiliar concepts and terms to provide context for the reader and relevant topics for classroom discussions.
- Through pictures and narratives, students Preview Key Vocabulary Words prior to reading.
- Students are given Comprehension Questions periodically throughout the text to check comprehension and help with plot sequencing.
- A built-in Rewards Feature provides an incentive for students to complete each section.
